Often called the "technology of the future," light offers many uses - from fiber optics carrying data over the "information super highway" to medical practitioners using lasers (coherent light) in surgery. With more than 80 million people in the United States alone suffering from one form or another of pain, a Colorado-based company - Light Force Therapy(tm) -has created the technology to treat both acute and chronic pain through the use of light-emitting diodes, LEDs (non-coherent light).
A relatively new FDA-approved treatment, developed by Light Force Therapy(tm) from headquarters just southeast of Denver, helps ease the pain associated with a number of conditions including arthritis; tendonitis; fibromyalgia; muscle and joint pain; muscle spasm, stiffness and soreness among others. In December 2002, the FDA further cleared Light Force Therapy pain management products for use in helping to temporarily increase blood circulation where applied.
