They’re Crunchin’ Cookies & Runnin’ Their Buns Off This Sunday in Austin, TX

The folks at Gladder’s Gourmet will be starting their day a little earlier than usual this Sunday, April 25, to get the cookies to the starting line in time for the annual Schlotzsky’s™ 5K Bun Run.

Gladder’s Gourmet supplies the cookie dough that’s baked on site and served to hungry (and happy!) customers at Schlotzsky’s locations nationwide.

“We’ll be loading up around 5:30am,” says Gladder’s VP Sales & Marketing David Foreman. “Man, that’s hard to say out loud. But this is our 11th year supporting a great customer in Schlotzsky’s, and the Austin Sunshine Camps that benefit from Schlotzsky’s tremendous efforts. We look forward to this time each year.”
   
On the menu will be the Schlotzsky's Oatmeal Raisin Cookie—the dessert treat the editors at Shape Magazine put at the top of the list in their December 2003 issue of the most delicious snacks that "hit the spot without destroying your diet" when you're on the go. And boy, will folks be on the go.

For chocolate lovers wending their way through the streets of Austin, there will also be plenty of Schlotzsky's Chocolate Chip Cookies, a classic recipe and an all-time favorite.

Warm-ups are scheduled for 7:45am, with the Bun Run starting at 8:00am from the South 1st Bridge, and finishing at Auditorium Shores on Riverside Drive.
