 Kathy's mother suffered a stroke during a routine medical procedure. Although it was thought the stroke was slight, the original diagnosis was wrong; it was massive. She was frustrated in her search for answers regarding stroke prognosis, patient's rights, living wills, long-term nursing care and the financial realities. She decided to write the book that she was looking for and could not find. It is written for other baby boomers. As this large segment of the population ages, they face the difficult task of caring for their elderly parents. Long-term healthcare has an exorbitant price tag, both financially and emotionally.
