Executive Group Buys QSR Billing Systems named Evolutions, will be headquartered in St. Louis

Three executives of Quick Study Radiology, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, announced today they have purchased the medical billing and practice management division of the company and formed a new enterprise called Evolutions. The three executives of the new company are Tom Long, President and CEO; Gail Fowler, Vice President of Operations; and Marie Palladino, Vice President of Information Services. The new executive team has over 75 years combined experience in medical billing and healthcare management and administration.

Three executives of Quick Study Radiology, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, announced today they have purchased the medical billing and practice management division of the company and formed a new enterprise called Evolutions. The three executives of the new company are Tom Long, President and CEO; Gail Fowler, Vice President of Operations; and Marie Palladino, Vice President of Information Services. The new executive team has over 75 years combined experience in medical billing and healthcare management and administration.

Evolutions will also be headquartered in St. Louis and will have regional offices in Cape Girardeau, MO and Evansville, IN. The company will continue to provide high quality and responsive medical billing solutions to its client base of radiologists, radiation oncologists, imaging centers and other medical specialties located in four states – MO, IL, VA and WV. The new company, which has working relationships with four Medicare intermediaries, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare and several other major healthcare insurance companies, plans to expand its services to all 48 contiguous states in the next one to three years.

Evolutions’ billing solutions entail much more than producing bills for medical providers. The company’s enhanced billing solutions, which are totally HIPAA-compliant, have reduced days in A/R for many clients by 35 percent. Payment denials have been reduced by as much as 18 percent due to the company’s unique claims data scrubber that checks for missing data elements, transpositions and illogical information. Professional coders also examine each claim submitted by Evolutions to insure that all coding is at the appropriate and correct level. The company also monitors trends in its clients’ claims submissions and when they discover recurring anomalies, they provide client training to correct the problem.

Tom Long, President of Evolutions has spent the last 25 years in healthcare administration as CEO, COO and administrative director for both start-up operations and established business with up to $75 million in revenue. Mr. Long offers specialized industry experience in healthcare, with functional expertise in operation management, billing and collections, managed care contracting, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning. Mr. Long is a Certified Healthcare Executive through the American College of Healthcare Executive and has a bachelors degree in biology from St. Louis University and a masters degree in healthcare administration from Webster University.

Gail Fowler, Vice President of Operations, has 20 plus years experience in the healthcare field. She has vast experience in health care operations with direct responsibility for various hospital entities, including radiology, lab, cardiology, respiratory care, pharmacy and physical rehabilitation. Ms Fowler also has several years’ experience working with major healthcare information systems vendors. Ms. Fowler is a registered radiology technologist and is a graduate of Central Missouri School of Radiology.

Marie Palladino, Vice President of Information Services, has more than 30 years experience in the clinical, administrative, and information systems areas. She has specialized in systems implementation, development and support and has been responsible for the conversion and implementation of HIS systems in a large teaching hospital and several other facilities during her career. Ms. Palladino has also implemented radiology systems, patient acuity systems, reporting systems, and medical billing systems. She is a Registered Nurse and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Informatics. She is an adjunct graduate instructor in Informatics at the University of Southern Indiana.
