For most women, their wedding is something that they have been dreaming about since they were little. And since this is such an important day, many flock to the gym and frantically exercise to be in their best shape. Now, a personal training company in Albany will be helping these brides become buff!
A woman's wedding is an event that she has planned for many years, often since childhood. The day marks a significant change in her life, and many women are faced with the challenge of looking their absolute best when they walk down that aisle. Now a company located near Albany is offering conditioning programs geared directly toward this market.
Nathan Mosher, owner of Pinnacle Performance in Troy, has been a conditioning coach and trainer for over 5 years. He has vast experience in corporate fitness, personal training, and sports performance training, but has recently turned his attention to an under-represented market - the modern bride.
"I was recently married myself, so I know first-hand that many women are focused on looking their best on their wedding day", said Mosher. "They are tanning, trying to diet, and in many cases working out for the first time to 'get buff' for when they put on that wedding dress. I realized that conditioning services that are geared toward athletes, who want to maximize results in minimum time, would also be useful to future brides."
Mosher started Pinnacle Performance last year to primarily train athletes. However, he has recently expanded his services to one-on-one training, and now hopes to work with future brides. He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Personal Trainer with the top certification organization in the country - the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a full-time student at The Sage Graduate School working on his doctorate degree in physical therapy.
"I researched the local fitness scene and noticed that specialized training for brides was missing in this area. I decided that the techniques and workouts that an athlete might use for better sports performance are, in many cases, the same methods that would be useful for women", notes Mosher.
But what about the long-term commitment that is usually associated with working with a personal trainer? After all, many brides are on a tight budget and training expenses can pile up quickly. Mosher has considered this, and feels he has a plan that might ease the financial burden.
"I will only be offering two- and three-month packages, tops. We would only work together for the last couple of months before the wedding date, and after that, the contract is complete", says Mosher. "This way you are not locked into a long-term contract for sessions that you might not be able to afford or need."
And he has even thought of the experienced workout enthusiasts among the "buff brides".
"I want to offer on-line training shortly, where women may sign up and receive training advice and structure through e-mail, without having a trainer next to them. This gives the more advanced client the opportunity to maximize her results for a reduced cost."
And that's not all. Mosher also has plans for an e-book outlining many of the methods and tips that he has accumulated over the years. He hopes to have that available by early summer.
The in-person training with Mosher is currently available, and the on-line training will be available within a few months. Mosher may be reached by e-mail at: ndmosher@pinnacleperformancesport.com or by calling 518-271-9422.
