First Online Vegan Children’s Store Launches
Envegan, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the world’s first online vegan children’s store at www.kidbean.com on February 1, 2004. Providing a wide array of items suited for children and their parents, KidBean.com stands alone as the only Internet outlet whose full selection of children’s products are limited to those that meet the highest standards of being cruelty-free, fair labor, non-toxic, and all-natural.
Many of the products featured on KidBean.com are independently certified as vegan and/or organic. Despite this, the owners of KidBean.com took the added step of having several manufacturers sign a supplementary agreement that the items supplied are free of all animal products and by-products. In addition, the KidBean.com certification commits each of these suppliers to advance notification if any of the listed ingredients and/or manufacturing processes change.
As a result of such standards, all of the items in the store’s selection are made from 100% natural or recycled materials; free from toxic paints, dyes, and glues; never tested on animals; void of animal products and by-products; and produced under humane conditions by companies with fair labor standards. KidBean.com offers wooden toys, natural cleaning supplies, cloth diapers, baby slings, organic cotton and hemp clothing, bath soaps, linens, herbal and homeopathic remedies, and many other related items.
“We are excited and proud of what we have to offer,” said vice-president Jeff Corpening of the family-owned and operated business. “But we are even more excited about our plans to average a new product added to KidBean.com every day of our first year in business.” Though it may seem optimistic, a great deal of planning has gone into the business.
“It was a challenge that took us over three years of development on the back-end of the store just to insure our customers would only ever get the best products,” added founder and company president Melissa Zenz. “We decided at the start that we wouldn’t undertake creating KidBean.com unless we could guarantee that every item we offered was safe for our children, the planet, and all animals.”
Envegan, Inc. dba KidBean was incorporated as a Florida subchapter S corporation in February 2001. It is a home-based, family-owned and operated Internet business whose mission is to provide a wide variety of products that positively impact the total health of the earth and its inhabitants.
