Aging is a natural part of life. It can be a process that is accomplished gracefully with few failures in health or it can be fraught with one health problem after another. But, it doesn’t have to be an inevitable sentence of poor health and senility. Much can be done to slow the aging process and to promote a healthy and disease free life. This will be the topic of an upcoming talk given by Dr. Christopher Henderson, N.D., L.Ac.; Director of Calistoga’s Optimal Health Center.
Dr. Henderson will discuss strategies on how to slow the aging process. These will include information on nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle support. He will also discuss the physiology behind aging and current tests that are available to determine what is needed to help you feel younger and healthier.
“None of us can beat the aging process. But we can live healthy and productive lives as long as possible,” said Dr. Henderson. “Many things can be done to support the healthy functioning of your mind and body well into your 90’s”.
During the second half of the lecture, Dr. Henderson will be joined by Reinhard Bergel, Ph.D., a specialist in lymph edema therapy and a consultant for the spa industry located in Calistoga. Bergel will explore a variety of lymphatic treatment techniques for pre and post breast cancer.
Dr. Henderson who earned his Naturopathic Doctorate from Washington’s Bastyr University where he also earned his Master of Science degree in acupuncture will provide handouts and other free literature to assist participants in making decisions about how to age into a healthy, productive, and energetic life.
Reinhard Bergel earned a masters degree in physiotherapy and kinesiology from UCLA and a PhD in exercise science from UC Berkeley. He has been in the spa and physical rehabilitation industry for over twenty years and is renowned for his abilities in physical care and rehabilitation.
