Fall and winter are traditionally times of increased sickness due to colds and flu. Much can be done to prevent these annoying and potentially life-threatening illnesses. This will be the topic of a free upcoming talk given by Dr. Christopher Henderson, N.D., L.Ac.; Director of Calistoga’s Optimal Health Center, September 23rd, 6-8 PM at the Calistoga Community Center.
Dr. Henderson will discuss how to strengthen the immune system and prevent the occurrence of cold and flu infections. This includes nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle support to boost immunity. He will also talk about alternatives to flu vaccines to children and the elderly.
“Our immune systems are continuously being depleted by stress, environment, and poor nutrition,” said Dr. Henderson. “We can apply simple techniques to boost our immune systems.”
Henderson who earned his Naturopath Doctorate from Washington’s Bastyr University where he also earned his Master of Science degree in acupuncture will provide handouts and other free literature about how to prevent colds and flu this season.
