The Ultra-OPC-Connection.com, home of the Upstate Ventures web presence on the internet has seen great success in marketing Ultra OPC, an isotonic capable powdered OPC product that competes for customers in the OPC antioxidant arena.
Other players in this arena are many and varied, but the biggest competitor is, hands down, an OPC powdered supplement retailed by a MLM company Based in Greensboro NC. The MLM scheme has enjoyed a solid hold in the "OPC" battle for King of the OPC's, but Ultra OPC is fast gaining on it.
Many of the other OPC users are switching to Ultra OPC, said Pat Baker, owner of the Ultra OPC Connection, based in Saratoga County NY. He continued by saying that the pattern of people ordering his #1 product is they try one bottle and then the next order they order a years supply (4-300 gram bottles).
The main difference between the two competing products is the Ultra OPC includes additional antioxidants, Vitamin C&E and the Ultra OPC product is 50% less than the other OPC product. I think the taste of the Ultra OPC is more pleasant. I find the other powdered OPC to be bit tangy, somewhat sour to the taste. I never could get my children to take it, simply because of the taste.
The price difference is a big factor with our customers. OPC offered by the MLM company is priced at $64.95 and $7.50 shipping. The reason for the price difference is a Multi-level marketing system that must pay commission to many levels of distributors. Ultra OPC is a product marketed by retailers in stores and on the Internet. We have a lot more flexibility with our customers than MLM distributors.
In plans for 2004 expansion of sales, Upstate Ventures has debuted a customer referral plan that is getting a great response form their customers. They also have started an "Auto-ship" program where customers have the Ultra OPC automatically shipped them at customer-defined intervals.
'Customer satisfaction and Loyalty is paramount to us. Customers speak and we listen, said Pat Baker, owner of Ultra OPC Connection. We love what we do and we plan to only get more customer service oriented.
