At the American Academy of Dermatology's (AAD) Summer Academy Meeting, Canfield Imaging Systems announced plans today to leverage the world's largest skin imaging database. The announcement was made by Douglas Canfield, President and CEO of Canfield Scientific, Inc. Canfield Imaging Systems, the leading developer of clinical imaging software and photographic systems, plans to unveil the database of 1,000,000 images in February, 2008, at the AAD's 66th Annual Meeting.
"Years of work have gone into the database's creation and we are delighted to make this announcement," said Douglas Canfield. "The sheer scale of the database will have a dramatic impact on the understanding of skin aging across all skin types."
Unequaled in its scope and size, the database will be used by Canfield's VISIA® Complexion Analysis to offer the most accurate skin analysis ever available. The database, which is used to compare skin conditions of individuals to the general populace, was started in the late '90s. It forms the basis of a statistical model which provides skin care professionals the expected range for important complexion features for skin type and age.
Canfield's constant innovation and The "Canfield Touch," which includes their gold-standard customer service and a call center hotline staffed with full-time Canfield employees, have made the company a natural choice for nearly 15,000 skincare experts in medical practices, hospitals, medical spas, skincare and wellness centers, and spas.
