The Medical College of Wisconsin says that, "While traditional Lasik is already a popular treatment, advances in Lasik technology provide for even more personalized Lasik results." The Medical College of Wisconsin also states that the latest in laser eye surgery corrects both the lower and higher order aberrations, reducing side effect risks that follow treatment.

Research shows that Lasik vision correction is available for those who have farsightedness and astigmatism as well as nearsightedness. These procedures are also becoming available to a broader range of patients with diverse vision problems. Laser vision procedures have become faster and can now be accomplished in less than 15 minutes. Laser Assisted Situ Keratomileusis, the technical name for this procedure, is a process that uses laser beams to correct Refractive Instability. Machines using monochromatic beams reshape the cornea, improving refractive light ability, changing the way images are viewed and improving the patient's vision.

Even with the advancements in laser technology, there are still those who are not good candidates for laser eye surgery. ChristiaNet encourages people to gather adequate information about the facts and accomplish a fair amount of research before undergoing eye surgery. Also, possible candidates should have all of their questions satisfied when discussing options with the attending surgeon.
