Douglas Hamilton, M.D. Has Been Named to Bioform's Medical Education Faculty for the Training
Douglas Hamilton, M.D. has been named to Bioform's Medical Education Faculty for the training of physicians in the techniques of injection of Radiesse, a new facial wrinkle filler with 2-3 times the duration of Restylane. Dr. Hamilton will be performing the Radiesse Challenge on 5 patients to demonstrate the much longer duration of Radiesse when compared to Restylane, presently the most frequently used facial filler in the world. He will inject the smile line on one side with Restylane and the other with Radiesse and the patients will be photographed every 2 months over 18 months ( Radiesse typically lasts 1-2 years & Restylane no longer than 6 months ).
FDA approval for this use is expected within a few months; treatments are presently being performed prior to FDA approval. Dr. Hamilton is one of the American pioneers in this procedure, having treated over 400 patients over the past 3 1/2 years. The MEF is composed of an elite group of filler luminaries drawn from 3 specialities:dermatology, plastic sugery, & facial plastic surgery. Dr. Hamilton is an Asst. Clinical Professor in Dermatology at UCLA. with offices in Beverly Hills, California.
