AUTHOR & EXPERT ON PEDOPHILIA DR. AMY ZABIN DISCUSSES THE MICHAEL JACKSON CONTROVERSY

In light of recent allegations involving Michael Jackson, Dr. Amy Hammel-Zabin, author of CONVERSATIONS WITH A PEDOPHILE: In the Interest of Our Children, recently appeared again on the OReilly Factor and is scheduled to appear on still more major news programs to shed light on the nature of child sex-offenders.

Children rarely make allegations of sexual abuse that are not true because it is so disturbing, humiliating and traumatic to speak about, says Dr. Hammel-Zabin. Having recently given expert testimony before the Attorney General Lisa Madigan of Illinois, who presided over public hearings involving the supervision of sex offenders, Dr. Hammel-Zabin can offer insight into issues such as:

Fact and fiction surrounding the nature of pedophilia.
What are the telltale signs of a child sex-offenders?
What motivates child molesters?
What drives them to seduce and violate children again and again?
Why is murder more and more the gruesome fate of children victimized by pedophiles?
Why are victims of such crimes often silent and even protective of those who abuse them?
What can we do to protect our children from societys most heinous crime?

Dr. Hammel-Zabin can address these experiences personally as well as professionally. Having herself been sexually assaulted as a child, getting inside the mind of a child sex-offender and understanding his madness was crucial for her in order to come to terms with her own abuse.

Says Dr. Hammel-Zabin: The pedophile systematically strips a child of self-respect, trust, and finally, the ability to say no. According to Dr. Hammel-Zabin, sexually abused children find it almost impossible to communicate to others about their experiences. They feel that they are to blame for what has happened to them and that they will be punished. Secrecy is the crux of sexual abuse. Without it, there could be no abuse.
