San Antonio Cosmetic Dentist Attends Advanced Educational Course on “Ceramic Steel” Porcelain
March 1, 2005 -- The course demonstrated the use of the Cerec 3D computer system for fabrication of the yttrium stabilized zirconium oxide (YZ) frameworks. Laser scanning of the models of teeth prepared for dental bridges was followed by computer-assisted design of the dental prosthesis. The design was transmitted to the computer-assisted milling chamber for milling of the framework.
The meeting was held at the US Office of Vident Corporation, the makers of Vita Porcelain. Vident serves the expanding dental laboratory market with the development and distribution of select high quality materials and equipment.
Dr. Carlson was the only dentist at this meeting that saw dental technicians and lab owners from across the nation attend. The use of this incredibly strong zirconium porcelain frameworks ushers in a new era in cosmetic dentistry for patients with missing teeth.
