Searching the Web for Health? Be Very, Very, Afraid
In an article published on BreakThroughDigest.com, health advocate Gary Bryant outlines a number of steps consumers need to take before acting on any medical information they might find on the Internet.
The article "Evaluating Health Information on the Web" asks consumers to consider a number of questions before getting too excited about some of the medical information they might find.
"When you've been told that you have a serious illness, sometimes common sense goes out the window, and the advice you find yourself following may cause more harm than good; and at best, it can waste a lot of precious time." Says Bryant, "The bottom line to online medical research is this: be skeptical, consider the source, and discuss your findings with your doctor."
Gary Bryant is the founder and executive producer of the award winning BreakThrough Digest.
